The recipient of an Ella Fitzgerald Scholarship and named an Outstanding Jazz Vocalist by DownBeat Magazine, Ren Geisick has become a beloved voice on the Bay Area music scene. She uses her luscious vocals to perform Americana originals that speak powerfully of family, sorrow, and love.
Ren grew up in Los Gatos and graduated with a degree in Jazz Vocal Performance from The Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at Cal-State Long Beach. In 2017, she released her debut album Ren, Love Song produced by folk/pop powerhouse Jesse Harris, which signaled a move from straight ahead jazz towards a more Americana sound and featured some of Ren's original music. Ren, Love Song signaled a new chapter with performances in Nashville and New York City and clear focus on songwriting.
During the Pandemic, Ren taught her herself how to play ukulele and guitar and began live streaming performances from home. In January 2022, she released Ruby EP, inspired by the life and catch phrases of her Grandma Ruby from Oklahoma. Ren is releasing her 2nd full length album on June 20, 2025, The Place I Planned To Go, featuring 14 original songs including her single "Don't Start Telling me the Truth" that was released on April 25, 2025. Recorded with her band in Brisbane, CA, this new album features songs about outlaws, heartache, and mercy and shows what Ren has always been: a country singer.
